Technical Analyst

The Gas Authority is seeking candidates for the position of Technical Analyst for its Subscribed Regulatory Compliance Service.  The Technical Analyst will assist subscribing municipal gas system Operators and master meter Operators achieve and maintain compliance with 49 CFR Parts 191, 192, and 199/40, and State Public Service Commission Rules, including: Administration and maintenance of a web-based work order and record keeping system; Administration and maintenance of a web-based Operator Qualification Program; Assistance with OQ training and evaluating; Administration and maintenance of data collection, preparation, and submittal of periodic and special reports; Assistance with representation of subscribing Operators individually and collectively in dealings with regulatory agencies including inspection preparation, attendance and response; and Administration and execution of a program for development, implementation, and maintenance manuals and plans.

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent related industry experience, and at least five years of recent, relevant experience in gas distribution operations. Candidates should have a thorough understanding of the pipeline safety code, excellent written and oral communication skills, and a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet Explorer, as well as Microsoft and/or Oracle databases. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementation of the service for subscribing Operators in Georgia and other states.

Depending on the location of the successful applicant, office space may be provided at the Gas Authority’s Kennesaw office, established and maintained within personal residence, or located in appropriate office space at another location.

Regulatory Compliance Analyst

The Gas Authority is seeking candidates for the position of Regulatory Compliance Analyst for its Subscribed Regulatory Compliance Service.  The Analyst will assist subscribing municipal gas system Operators and master meter Operators achieve and maintain compliance with 49 CFR Parts 191, 192, and 199/40, and State Public Service Commission Rules, including assistance with administration of a web-based work order and record keeping system; administration of a web-based Operator Qualification Program; assistance with and limited deliver of OQ training and evaluating; report preparation; inspection preparation, attendance and response; and manuals development, implementation, and maintenance.  The Operator Qualification portions of the service will also be made available to contractors.

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent related industry experience, and at least five years of recent, relevant experience in gas distribution operations. Candidates should have a thorough understanding of the pipeline safety code, excellent written and oral communication skills, and a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet Explorer. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementation of the service with a designated group of up to 15 Subscribers in northeast Georgia.
